I’ve been a huge PB&J fan for a long time… so I’m really happy to have finally worked with them. First song I got to use my new upright piano on.

I just realized that soundcloud doesnt work very well with tumblr, so here’s an easier way of listening. :)
RAC is back with a new remix compilation that is due out on March 4th, with new tracks appearing every day. The first track leaked, is a reworking of Surfer Blood’s “Take It Easy”. The tribal sounds are made more present here, and it adds a lot more groovy element to the song. The verses just have more “umph” now. I pretty much love every thing RAC touches, so I cant wait to hear everything.

‘New Theory’ // Washed Out // RAC Remix
Recently premiered remix of the Ernest Greene’s Life of Leisure track, ‘New Theory’. Life of Leisure was released 2 years ago in the “chiilwave explosion of 2k9” and is still resonating today, and quite strongly might I add. This is made apparent by the fact that the Remix Artist Collective have decided to showcase it in their Vol. 2 which is out later this week.
RAC has a tendency to keep some of their remixes a bit minimal in comparison to those by other artists. The tracks they remix still resemble the originals in quite a few ways but nevertheless a new charm is added that’ll make it just different enough. As is heard in the above track. Listen to the original below and make your own comparison.
Indie Shuffle just premiered our Washed Out remix! RAC VOL 2 on March 4th.

This is one of the finest pieces of music ever written. It’s very cinematic and I was kinda bored on a friday night, so I decided to just make my own version of it.
It’s featuring the Minimoog model D, which has some trouble staying in tune, especially on the high notes. The Juno-60 on the chords. I ran the last half of it through this old tape deck, so you kinda get this rough tape hiss and distortion.
I was kinda inspired by this arrangement of another song.

I’ve always been a big fan of David Holmes version as well. (Which turns out to be Tomita’s version. I had no idea)

Hope you like it.

New remix!!
Psychic Powers - Dreamboat (RAC Mix) by Remix Artist Collective
Just announced a brand new show in NYC at the Brooklyn Bowl!
JANUARY 22nd!
THANKS!!
It’s too quiet in here. Let’s break the silence with one of my favorite artists.
His name is André Allen Anjos and he’s quite the talented young man. At the ripe age of 25, he has worked his way into the hearts of many electro lovers and the ears of many more; possibly yours. How, you ask?
He is the founder and most notable member of the Remix Artist Collective (RAC). Anjos was fed up with the generic ‘cut and paste/crank the bass’ style of remixing songs, so he decided to do something about it. In my professional opinion, he reinvented the act of remixing a song. Now say that ten times fast.
Just listen to the track posted above. It’s a mix of digital and physical instruments working together in perfect musical harmony. If I hadn’t spent the last few lines rambling on about remixes, you would probably have no idea that it’s actually an altercation of an original song by The Black Ghosts (another group worth noting).
Anjos not only ‘remixes’ songs, he picks them apart and rewrites them. If you were to compare the original of any song he’s mixed, to his version, the two are a far cry from each other. They are so different to the extent that one could say they are entirely different songs with separate vibes, emotions and overall sounds.
Now, here’s where you may have blindly… uh, yeah, blindly heard Anjos before. Apart from rewriting, he does compose his own original work. He created and recorded the entire score for the movie Holy Rollers that was released earlier this year. He has done work for popular TV shows such as Entourage and 90210. He ALSO has done various advertising work for companies such as Coca-Cola, Verizon and the NBA. This is all without mention to his talents as a sound engineer and producer.
Once again I’ll say it. Talented guy.
You should check out RAC’s website and get comfortable once you stumble upon their soundcloud. RAC’s entire portfolio is there, waiting to tickle your ear drums. The majority is also ready for free download so you can show all your friends.
Happy listening to whoever’s listening.
