Katie Herzig - Free Your Mind (RAC Mix)
Here’s a brand new remix for Katie Herzig! I wanted to make it epic. Lots of string arrangements, swells, sweeps and half-time buildups.
Hope you like it!
Currently at #5 on hypemachine.
Death Cab For Cutie’s “Some Boys” was an exciting song to tackle given its driving tempo and 6/8 time signature. I find the original song’s feel and arrangement to be quite open and abstract, so there was a lot of room to focus the beat and chord progression into something new. This track will release both digitally and on CD as part of the DCFC Remix EP on November 22nd via Atlantic Records.
Enjoy! - Andrew

I actually used one of these:

Similar to a ukelele, but has steel strings instead. :)
Pretty close to a mandolin though..
What is your favorite song right now?

Song: Hunting For Witches (RAC Remix)
Artist: Bloc Party
Makes me want to learn how to play the mandolin.
It is sooo sweet.
Sunday Girl - Love U More (RAC Mix) by RAC
So, I’m a little late posting this but soundcloud was down for a little bit. Apparently some douchetigers decided to DDoS them. For what purpose? I don’t know.
Here’s a remix I did for Sunday Girl. I wanted to keep it fun and bouncy. Certainly a departure from what I normally do.
I’ve said it a few times, but one of the things that keeps me inspired is new gear. I just got a new Yamaha DX7. It’s widely accepted as one of the most important synths of the 80’s. I didn’t bother programming it, I just used the basic patches. They’re classics. INT11 is basically the patch used on every single 80’s ballad. Uber cheesy electric piano sound.
It’s a bit of a change because it’s a digital synth, something I’ve been strongly against for a long time. I wasn’t really crazy about the sound until I put it through my Roland RE-201 Space Echo. It just came to life. It’s all over those Marimbas.
Well, at least it’s not analog modeling.
